Coffee and a Bible

A Note From Brady Cook

As a minister for nearly 20 years, I’ve seen first hand how people struggle with the Bible. They claim it’s hard, too confusing, or simply “outdated.” Often, they give up.

I sympathize with those people, because for as long as I can remember, I‘ve been one of those people.

My whole life — even well after I started preaching full-time — I believed you needed some kind of credentials to know what in the world was going on.

The truth is, as I found out, not only do you not need an advanced degree to understand God’s will, it often times gets in the way.

Understanding the Bible is actually the easy part; putting it into everyday practice is more difficult.

We’ll walk through the first part of that together. God will help you with the second.

Brady Cook
It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost. (1 Timothy 1:15)

Other Books

Books from Coffee and a Bible

Most of my non-fiction books have come from Bible classes I’ve done in person, so they’re perfect for your small groups as well. The chapters are (mostly) self-contained topics and are designed for conversation, so don’t be afraid to use them as such!

My fiction books are just that…fiction. But I like to think there are some bits of truth in there, as well.

Reader Reactions

Whatever I am as a writer is because of people like this.

It was an amazing book…I hope there are going to me more like it, and soon. What a wonderful way to bring scripture alive! I absolutely loved it. I wish it was in audiobook as well. Worth it’s cost and more.
